Business Development Advisory Analyst

Overview

Giarca Capital is looking for four more Business Development Analysts to support our business development team located at Schiphol, Amsterdam. This job is ideally suited for a recent graduate (within the last 2-3 years) with a fintech, business, engineering, or communications-related degree who is interested in learning about financial technology, blockchain, and digital tokens. The ideal candidate is a driven, fast-learning individual with financial acumen, who previously worked in a demanding high-paced environment. Fluency in languages in addition to Dutch and English is preferred, but not required. The Business Development Analyst will report to the Director of Business Development. The Business Development Analyst’s main responsibilities will include conducting industry research and statistical analysis, creating meaningful data visualizations and reports, building customer relationships and performing detailed records/data tracking. A successful individual in this role should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain and present complex concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining client relationships via in person and through correspondence.
Conducting regular research and analysis on market insights, business opportunities, industry trends, new technologies and more.
Using previous experience and skills to interpret data, analyze findings and identify specific areas of the company that would be affected, predicting both the positive and negative results of any possible changes and making recommendations.
Creating accurate and meaningful charts, graphs, models and other data visuals.
Tracking and recording metrics, data and statistics on company performance, connections, client retention, customer retention and finances on a regular basis.

Qualifications

College degree is required in business, communications, law or other related discipline.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Must have strong presentation skills and demonstrated experience.
Has a positive attitude with willingness to learn new things and get more challenging tasks.
Possesses a personality that is equally comfortable building client relationships and working back-office analyzing metrics and documents.

Senior Portfolio Manager (Series 7)

Overview

Giarca Capital started as a private client stockbroking firm in 2010. What began as a diversified stockbroker with a range of companies in sectors such as commodities, energy and property, is now a specialist leading independent brokerage. We offer a variety of investment products for institutional, corporate and high-net-worth investors. This position will join Giarca Capital’s growing stockbroking team.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain an understanding of the services that Giarca Capital provides and the investment products on offer. Should be able to provide investment recommendations to clients using the aformentioned services and products.
Build and maintain a client base through daily, targeted cold calling. Use his or her knowledge of the financial and investment markets to sell Giarca Capital services and products.
Build excellent, sustainable and professional relationships with clients. Understand their investment needs, preferences and use this information to make appropriate suggestions for their investments.
Regularly update clients on their portfolio and possible new investment opportunities.
Be updated with all compliance requirements and regulations that apply to the position and adhere to all of it ensuring Giarca Capital does not breach EU regulations. Should be aware of and adhere to company compliance policies related to the role.
Stay up to date with the latest financial news and market activities to understand the market movements. Keep abreast of economic and political factors that are the drivers of change. Use this knowledge to provide suitable investment recommendations to clients.

Qualifications

Series 7 Qualified.
Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance or Business Administration.
At least 5 years of work experience in audit, finance or consulting position.
Audit background is preferable.
Positive attitude with willingness to learn new things and take on challenging tasks.

Able to manage clients’ investment portfolios according to each of their appetite for risk and investment goals.
Natural sales ability with excellent client relationship and communication skills.
In depth understanding of the current financial and investment markets.
Fluent at describing each investment product, the risks, and benefits which match to client needs and preferences.
Organized, can self-manage own workload, ensures the companies’ CRM is up to date for all clients, provides accurate and up to date client and sales data as and when required.
The ability to operate in a lively and fast paced working environment.
Strong numeracy skills with high attention to detail.
Honest and has a high business and commercial integrity.
Possesses the ability to process and retain information quickly.
Understands the client and business need to adhere to EU financial regulations.
Series 7 qualified and has not been under investigation by the Financial Authorities.
Experienced financial stockbroker with some form of transferable client base.
Maintains client confidentiality.
IT competent.
Ideally should possess a degree in a relevant area such as economics, accountancy, business, or mathematics.
